He who comes in the spirit
and the power of Elijah
to make straight His ways.
To prepare the people for our Lord.
Our God has told Malachi.

To turn the hearts of the fathers
to the children.
And the hearts of the children
to their fathers.
And to approach our Savior in faith.

The apostles asked Jesus
who was Elijah who would come.
Where the Jewish people
were looking for on this great
and dreadful day.

Jesus called John the Baptist Elijah.
But to deny that John was Elijah,
made Jesus a liar
and the position of Jesus as well as John
was jeopardized.

The road was blocked for many
to come to Jesus.
It was God's intention to accept Him
with His works that He did.
Blessed is he who takes no offense at Him.

John who was prepared
gave to Jesus lots of strife.
Despite baptizing Jesus in the river Jordan
he did not understand the signs well.
He had to pay with his life.
Where could Jesus hope for now without
His forerunner?
