The lake.

Everyday I run into the forest.
Leaving modern society behind.
Sitting on a rock near a small lake.
My place of serenity.

Silence...

Walking to the lake I saw someone.
A girl sitting on a rock next to mine.
I walk to my rock and sit down.
I say nothing.

Silence...

We sat there until dark.
I thought she didn't notice me.
Suddenly she gave a kiss on my cheek and ran away.
I was speechless.

Silence...

The next day she was there again.
Sitting on a rock next to mine.
I sat down on my rock and said nothing.
She grabbed my hand.

Silence...

Everyday I would go to the forest.
Sitting next to her on my rock.
Staring at the lake until dark.
Holding hands.

Silence...

For eighty years this continued.
Sitting on the rocks and never spoke a word.
We sat there until dark and fell asleep.
We never woke up again.

Silence...
