My face was wet by the excruciating heat
My clothes socking with my perspiration
You answered my shyish look, made me jump at my feet
Didn’t realize that your eyes would be my source of inspiration

You noticed my pathetic excuse for a smile
Asked me if I was enjoying myself tonight
I didn’t but still you hung around for awhile
The room was turning darker, your eyes shining bright

You were ‘happy together’ and didn’t have a single friend to spare
I was flattered by your attention but also frustrated like hell
You were into fashion and I certainly wasn’t en vogue, I didn’t care
Miss Blue Eyes had the look that had a story to tell
