You know I used to dream about you, way before we even met
Made me waking up, smiling, realising what I was about to get
But faith played a cruel joke, because I only saw you in the past
Had a date with ya’ yesterdays or was it the night before last?

I wanna meet ya with that sharp looking cocktail dress on
Gonna throw away all these dreams, make ‘em all gone
At eight, I wanna know that it’s not all just another white lie
Enjoy the sweet scent of your wavy blond hair, hear a gentle sigh

I’m sorry to say, but as I might have expected it to be
My dreams were playing pity mindgames with me
I showed up though, but you knowing the die had been cast
Left me only with memories about the night before last
